the 10th of September... day two of the annual conference... and i am alone, utterly alone sitting here at my desk... everyone... and i mean everyone in my department is in ft. worth doing the conference thing... i have spent the day so far sweeping the web for various and sundry buffy the vampire slayer sites and playing on sissyfight.com... as well as forgetting to do any and all work requested of me this week... there are a grand total of 7people here out of a possible 28... it's dark, it's lonely and it's BOOORRINGG...

moose and frog... an unlikely combination... a large mammal and a small amphibian... this is how i tend to see myself... and since i've just started working at an association of zoo and aquariums and z & a professioanls, i thought that i might just retitle my blog... if indeed this is a blog... i feel like i have no real topic as of yet... that i am simply rambling... that i have no direction in life... oh wait... there we go... my search for direction... and spitiruality... and happiness at my job... there we go... now i have a topic...

so here i am at my new place of work... illicitly typing away in my blog... and i am HAPPY!!! oh, so happy... this is this first job i've ever loved... granted it's only been two days, but, oh wow... it's wonderful to be here... i'd like to thank the academy and my boyfriend for finding me this job and my new boss for hiring me and my old employer for making my life a living hell... but more on THAT later...

wow... i never thought that i would be one of those people who shared her life on the web... and yet here i am, typing away to post my first entry...

i'm guessing that i should begin at the beginning... with a bit of biography and an explanation of sorts as to why i wanted to start doing this... so here goes the bio... i'm 26... live in a small apartment near our nation's capital with my boyfriend of almost two years... and am currently wrapping up a position with a small not-for-profit organization which supports blindness prevention programs in developing countries... in about a week i will be starting an excellent new job at an animal care membership organization... i am really quite excited about the new position and wish i was starting monday instead on a week from monday...

as i'm at work right now... i'll have to keep this short... and try to write more later... when i'm done stamping envelopes... :(
